Founded in 2020, Sisters Coming Together in the Community (SCTC), a 501(c)3 Non-Profit Organization, is a support organization for youth, women, and families.
At Sisters Coming Together in the Community, we aim to facilitate various programs, events, and activities including physical/mental health education, life skills, financial management and social justice as well as provide resources.
We strive to foster a connection in the communities so individuals not only survive but can thrive.
Sisters Coming Together in the Community (SCTC) was founded by L. Dianne Kennedy. Dianne has dedicated her life to uplifting others through community development and personal empowerment. In 2020, she founded SCTC as a heartfelt response to the growing needs of the Pasadena community during an especially challenging time.
Her earlier work with Penny Lane, where she supported women, families, and youth in accessing vital resources and public benefits, deeply shaped her understanding of the power of connection, trust, and care. Today, she brings that same compassion and lived experience to SCTC, creating a welcoming space where individuals are met with dignity and the tools to not just stabilize, but truly thrive. Dianne remains deeply committed to nurturing the strength of families and building communities where everyone has the chance to heal, grow, and belong.
